Because API integration between two pieces of software is made so easy, it can be overused. This is a productivity LOSS! One has to be disciplined about this. To prevent this ask:
- Do you actually need something running ALL THE TIME or can you just quickly export the data from TIME TO TIME from the software product you use and get what you need from it.
- What real monetary value or time-savings will having this task automated actually create for you or your client?
I spend a good amount of time logging tasks to spreadsheets via Zapier from Kanbanflow only to realized later that Kanban has a built in export feature. I could have saved a couple hours thinking about this first and realizing this is all I need!
